Nurse Call System

I went to the nurse at my GP's surgery had confirmed my pregnancy and it was so different from my first pregnancy (I was pregnant in the U.S. and delivered). Here in the UK said the sister, she's my transfer to the local midwife team would contact me again and gave me a little note with her number incase I had to ask early bleeding or other issues, or I was just waiting to be contacted of them by letter, some time between 12 and 17 weeks of pregnancy. I'm curious to know if this is called regular or only the set of midwives I've been to (in London). Last pregnancy I had a scan at 7 weeks and again at 9.5 weeks, and fortunately we've seen / heard the heartbeat for the second search. Of course, that now I do not know when I get all nervous and scan with what if. I'm really at the beginning of my second pregnancy (4 weeks 5 days), and I fully realize that anything can happen in the first 12 weeks, so it's understandable that I can not see someone at 12 weeks earlier than I , It is pretty vague, and there have been several attempts in the U.S. at the time of 17 weeks is suggested to be outside of time that midwives, I have been invited to a scan.
